The Great American Songbook, plus two other poems

THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK

The Great American Gongbook.
The Great American Bongbook.
The Great American Kongbook.
The Great American Hmongbook.
The Great American Prongbook.
The Great American Wrongbook.
The Great American Dongbook.
The Great American Thongbook.
The Great American Schlongbook.

MORNING

On the trail I encountered
A white girl, high school age, in running gear,
Further on, a black man, older, walking a dog.
The man said he was blessed
When I asked how he was.

I STARE DINTOO SPACE

Dandelions was rocking bees.
Dogs was trampolining,
Blue and red heelers trampolining.
There was a pair of parrots.

I said to myself I said
I didn’t know parrots could take off their
Chonklas so fast and aim like that,
From all cosmic angles.
